Who we are

 Niche produces media that explores the relationships between people and place. Niche illuminates the world's undiscovered places and conservation issues. We help people find their place in natural and cultural communities. Niche complements the work of Environmental Media by providing print companions to their award-winning video productions and exploring many of the regions and topics the company has documented in numerous video projects.

Bill Pendergraft and Ida Phillips Lynch developed Niche when they realized that there may be other people out there who find the journey as interesting as the destination.

Just the facts

 Bill Pendergraft is the founder and President of Environmental Media. He holds degrees in design and education, and has managed the design, production and distribution of media projects for thirty years. Prior to forming Environmental Media, he was the Director of US Operations for TVOntario in Toronto. Visit Environmental Media’s production page for a description of current projects.

Ida Phillips Lynch Ida Phillips Lynch is the communications director for Audubon North Carolina.  She is the author of North Carolina Afield and The Duke Forest at 75, and a frequent contributor to Wildlife in North Carolina. Ida was formerly the director of communications for The Nature Conservancy, NC Chapter.
